I started my first bookkeeping business in 2016 while working full-time, helping several clients stay financially organized and compliant with taxes. It was a side hustle built on care, precision, and the desire to support small business entrepreneurs like myself. I loved the work and the clients I served, but a combination of unstable leadership destroyed my clients’ parent company, and the economic fallout of COVID-19 completely ended that organization, forcing all of my clients to close their doors. With so much uncertainty, I had to make the difficult decision to shut my business down in 2020 and refocus on the stability of my full-time federal job.
Fast-forward to 2025, where my audit position within the federal government shifted dramatically with the new administration, and the career I worked hard on building for 22 years was instantly deprioritized. The job (and employer) I once loved no longer existed in the way I had envisioned. It was a turning point that pushed me into a period of deep reflection—questioning what I wanted my career to look like and how I could build a new career more aligned with who I am.
After months of soul-searching, job-seeking, career assessments, and an honest look at what drives me——I realized that accounting is where my strengths, skills, and sense of purpose all intersect. I’m analytical, organized, and calm under pressure—and I thrive on helping others feel clear and confident about their numbers and understanding how their business is performing.
That clarity led me back to entrepreneurship—this time with a clearer mission and a more defined specialty. I decided to relaunch my accounting business with renewed focus on the industries I care about most: alternative health and wellness practices and cannabis companies that need strong, compliant financial foundations and an understanding of their business in a way that makes sense to them.
Today, my work is driven by purpose, guided by experience, and strengthened by the lessons learned along the way. I’m here to support mission-driven, life-enhancing businesses with the reliable, transparent accounting they need and deserve, by offering clear, compliant accounting solutions that support sustainable growth in complex, regulated industries.
